Power and Flexibility
A distinct feature of the Loncel approach to remote monitoring is the power and flexibility of the cellular-equipped RMU (remote monitoring unit) which is the master telemetry unit in most Loncel remote monitoring applications. The power and I/O capability of this PLC-type unit futureproofs the investment in site hardware as additional features, inputs (eg additional tanks) or control capability can be added at a later date without purchasing additional or replacement equipment. Similarly, our WTG (wireless tank gauge) systems for both above-ground and below-ground tanks or SRR systems can be added at any time to the standard RMU, thus allowing Loncel to provide one solution with tremendous operational flexibility.
The Loncel solution is further unique in that the telemetry units and the server-side software were all developed in-house at one time specifically with the task of providing seamless integration of cellular data with a web browser based Internet front-end. This has meant that communications protocols, data compression methods and security issues have all been optimised for this specific task.
All Loncel RMU use the same format providing a consistent platform for future development and backwards compatibility.
