Development
The Loncel product range has evolved from the first cellular Remote Monitoring unit (RMU) designed by Loncel Technologies in 2000. This unit is still unique and remains the only unit commercially available that combines the I/O capability and power of a PLC, cellular modem and built-in local radio in a single waterproof package. After establishing the durability and reliability of this product, development has continued with enhancements and new products to meet particular customer needs.
The focus has been on creative solutions to customer requirements, rather than attempting to adapt the customer's concept to meet the existing product specifications e.g. the desire of one client to lower the cost of under ground tank installations lead to the development of the Loncel WTG product, resulting in an 80% reduction in installation costs.
The business and product development strategy is to identify new industries and applications that can be monitored by creative applications of Loncel hardware solutions, whilst maintaining software and communication compatibility with existing Loncel products.
