Loncel™ multi-channel PLC/radio transponder

Need to monitor remote equipment?

Loncel Technologies (2014) Ltd can provide a cost-effective, cellular telemetry solution that will give you remote monitoring quickly and easily. The Loncel solution provides own-design site units, an established server / database facility and an easy-to-use web interface all in a single integrated package. For equipment that is unmanned or requires automatic status reporting, sites that are difficult to access or must have a ‘wireless’ installation, the Loncel telemetry system is all you need for intelligent data-logging, alarm notification, and regular monitoring.

Key Features

  • Reliable, field-proven base station incorporating 3G cellular modem
  • Flexible, universal I/O, up to 6 analog inputs, 12 digital inputs, 6 temperature sensors
  • Integral 32 character LCD display & keypad
  • Compact, self-contained site unit
  • Secure internet interface
  • Over-the-air (OTA) updating of setpoints and configuration

The Loncel web site has been developed to present the information returned by Loncel Remote Monitoring Units (RMUs) in the most efficient way possible, presenting to the user any alerts, acknowledgments and providing graphical access to current and historical data. The details of each alert or update will appear on your own web page in a secure sub-domain of the Loncel web site. Alerts are acknowledged on the web page and logged. The two-way capability allows for local parameters, such as calibration constants or set points to be changed remotely over-the-air (OTA) without requiring actual physical access to the site.

Loncel Remote Monitoring Units are extremely compact, industrial-quality, dust and waterproof units with independent analogue and digital I/O, plus up to 6 temperature inputs per unit. The units can be supplied either self-contained with an integral antenna (simplifying retrofit applications) or with an external antenna for installation in a customer- or Loncel-supplied enclosure. Several existing installations have been operating continuously for over 15 years, proving the reliability of the system.

Site units typically report at pre-set regular intervals as well as when a set point is reached or alarm activated, or when a local fault such as loss of power occurs. Cellular monitoring can provide a significantly reduced response time over telephone dialup systems, and improved reliability over “direct-messaging” systems. Alert messages are sent from the Loncel server as either emails and/or text messages.

The Loncel Remote Telemetry System provides an extremely efficient and cost-effective means of managing large numbers of remote sites but is equally at home monitoring complex equipment at one or a small number of locations. The Loncel RMU is extremely flexible in its application to handle the most tasks without additional components. Loncel units already operate in a diverse range of industries, but potential applications are extensive and include:

  • Public utilities
  • Bulk deliveries
  • Fire/security
  • Traffic control
  • Perishable products
  • Building/plant management
  • Agriculture/Horticulture
  • Vending
  • Factory automation
  • Remote meter reading
